Mrs. Helen Haralambopoulou checks over a public speech speech being prepared by Catherine Nolan.
Under the Fulbright Program for promoting better underŽstanding among nations, Windber High School was fortunate enough to have had two teachers participating in this program. Last year Miss Margaret McLaughlin, from our high school faculty, taught a full year in Iraq. This year we had Mrs. Helen Haralambopoulou from Athens, Greece with us for the month of January, not as a teacher, but as an observer of American educational systems. Prior to coming to Windber, she was at the University of Wisconsin. While in Windber, Mrs. Haralambopoulou lived in the home of our Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Clyde E. Bounds. By living with an American family, she was better able to carry back to Greece first-hand observations on the American way of life. |
