Susan Grimison served as president for the second time in three years, and Miss Weaver once again acted as adviser. Judy Toomey took over in emergencies, Pat Lohr recorded the minutes, and Janet Mickey took care of the funds. Suzanne Bounds was program chairman, and Doris Ripple represented the club at monthly Inter Club Council meetings at the Y. W. C. A. in Johnstown. An initiation in the form of a spaghetti supper was conducted in October. In October the club sponsored a pep dance and in December, a "Can-Can Dance." The admission to this dance, one can of food, was to supplement the Christmas basket of food sent to a needy family, the club's annual service project. The Y-Teens undertook the sale of pencils printed with the basketball schedule to raise money for the Y-Teen Prom held in co-operation with the Junior Y-Teens. |

| Martha Keller presided over the club while Miss Duncan offered words of advice. Donna Lamb assisted Martha in her executive duties, Beth Paul took notes of activities, and Wanda Blough controlled the purse strings. The program chairman was Danielle Smith, and the Inter-Club Council Representative, Catherine Meyers. The club held its initiation in October, and in November a Sadie Hawkin's Day Dance. The girls conducted a bake sale as their money-making project, and gave a basket of food to a needy family at Christmas for their yearly service project. The club, with the Senior Y-Teens, held the Y-Teen Prom in February. |

Roland Wise leads new members, Don Mandel and John Ripper, through the Dramatics Club initiation |
With Lillian Zvolerin as president and Miss McLaughlin as adviser, the Dramatics Club enjoyed a successful year. Other officers included Sonia Beeghley, vice-president; Mary A. Severine, secretary; Phyllis Horvath, treasurer; Miriam Lehman, program chairman; John Ripper, parliamentarian and Betty Mickle and Gloria Grimes, historians. In October, the initiation party was held, and in November, the club gave its three-act play, a comedy, called "Girl-Shy." After the play, refreshments were served in the Music Room, and the cast mingled with the audience. The club was divided into five troupes, and each troupe produced a one-act play for the programs at club meetings. Plans were made for a trip to Pittsburgh to see a professional production and the annual Thespian banquet to initiate new Thespians.
To become a Thespian, one must first earn eight points in the Dramatics Club. Points may be earned in many ways such as participating in plays, serving on committees and as officers, to name a few. The Thespians had Roland Wise for their president; Suzanne Bounds served as secretary.
